Aaron Saunders provided a neat Titanium quickie to help you create a transition effect for your splash screen / home page in an iPhone app.

This node.js based command line interface driver for non-Studio users and usable interface for continuous integration.

Brice Lechâtellier shared his experience on Augmented Reality Markers with Appcelerator Titanium based on work done by Atsushi Kataoka. Cool stuff.

@dezinezync shared a video of an expanding text area made using only JavaScript. He also shared a TiDZLabel hack that allows you to create labels with bold ‘in them’ using the native Ti.UI.createLabel. Lastly, he shared TiWinSlider – a quick implementation for sliding windows like the ones found in the Facebook iOS and Path iOS app.

The big news of the week is Appcelerator acquires Cocoafish to add cloud capabilities to their repertoire of mobile functions to create Appcelerator Cloud services. Get a bit more detail on the acquisition of Cocoafish on the Appcelerator blog. Techcrunch has a great article on the progress appcelerator has made since it started and includes some more insight from Jeff Haynie on his choices for Appcelerator. In case you need more consolidation on the reasoning behind the new addition, take a look at this article from gigaom.com

Put your skills to the test and take up the Appcelerator developer challenge to win up to $5k. They are giving away the cash to the developer that can hack a titanium app using Box.

Tips

TiDemoKit is a clone of Google’s ADK DemoKit app by using Titanium with the ADK module – A cool example of Android taking to hardware.

Want to use the native iOS5 Dictionary in your Titanium Mobile app? The new benCoding.Dictionary module makes it easy to put this functionality into any Titanium app that targets iOS5 or higher. And his Titanium SMS Module helps you add SMS functionality to your iOS apps.

Dawson Toth updated his social.js module for SDK 1.8.1. It gives you social media sharing from your Titanium app.
